Helpful Tip from the Garden Geeks: When buying bedding plants, avoid those with yellow leaves. Select the plants that have dark green leaves instead. If you notice the soil is dry, and especially if it's pulling away from the sides of the container, the plants are probably stressed. These plants should be rejected because the the added stress caused by transplanting may make it difficult for the plant to completely revive and become well established.
