Helpful tip from The Garden Geeks: To give your tomatoes all the calcium they need to prevent blossom end rot, put a small piece of wallboard or gypsum board in the ground close to their root zone. This will give them plenty of calcium to prevent this disorder. Gypsum can also be added to soften clay soil if the soil has a lot of sodium in it.
