Helpful tip from The Garden Geeks: Make your own Hummingbird Feeder! Just cut a red plastic plate in the shape of a Hibiscus flower. Fill a hamster bottle (these are cheap at thrift stores and garage sales!) with sugar water tinted with red food coloring (exact recipes all over the web) and insert the center in the "flower", securing it on the back with duct tape. Hang amid the flowers on a trellis or in your rhododendrons, whose blooms attract hummingbirds. Even after the flowers fade, the birds will keep coming back!
