Helpful tip from The Garden Geeks: A secret to prettier Hyacinth is to cover! These flowers are quick to bloom, often so fast that their stalks remain short. To encourage longer stalks, watch for the buds to begin to develop, then cover them with an inverted pot or container. Keep them covered until stalks reach their full height. Once uncovered the pale stalks will quickly turn green and burst with fragrant flowers.
