Helpful tip from The Garden Geeks: Did you know ants raise aphids like we do chickens? So not only will you have an ant problem, but aphids as well! Well here is an easy solution, douse the ant hills with vinegar (be sure to use just enough to get into the ant hill, you don't want to kill your near by plants) and watch for ant activity. Repeat until ants are gone. It only should take a few applications. You could also use boiling water or stick a candy cane or two in the hill. They hate peppermint!
