Today's Dirt: Did you know there are several easy ways to trap slugs in your garden? Grab a jar lid or plant saucer and place it in the ground so only 1/8" of the edge is showing (This keeps ground beetles out which are beneficial to your garden). Pour beer or cola into it. The slugs fall in and never come out. To lure them even more, place a broken bit of curved plant container over the top to shade it. You can also use little yogurt cups with windows cut 1/8" above the surface of the ground, add the liquid, and replace the lid. Those slugs are as good as gone!! Be sure to check your traps every 2 or 3 days! Another helpful tip from The Garden Geeks!
