Bloom Description: Haageocereus acranthus produces greenish white flowers followed by round green fruit

Notes for Identification:

Haageocereus acranthus is a columnar cactus with sparsely branched curving or upright stems, and 12 to 14 ribs forming tubercles.  Closely set yellow to dark brown areoles bear one or more downward pointing central spines, to 1 1/2in (4cm).

Care: When grown indoors, grow in standard cactus potting mix in full light. Provide low humidity and good ventilation. In the growing season, water moderately and apply a low nitrogen liquid fertilizer monthly; keep completely dry in winter.
